Dhamapur lake is a great point for wildlife& bird enthusiasts and photographers. You can see Indian Hornbill, Cormorants basking near the Lake, Herons and many wildlife species.
A best place to explore if you happen to Malvan or around the place. Very chilled vibes you get when you enter from Bhagavati temple. Many hornbill visit to this lake you can locate them around. Around the lake there arw huge greenery. Theres are stairs from temple to down the lake you can sit and enjoy the evening.
Perfect place to chill out. The way towards the lake is from Devi Bhagwati Temple. While getting directions, search for Bhagwati Mandir, Dhamapur instead of Dhamapur lake as Google shows wrong destination. When we visited, there was a group of hornbills flying around the trees.
This place wasn't much crowded when we visited in December. The lake is covered with lots of greenery from sides. Very relaxing and recommended place to visit with family be cautious if you are visiting with children as I didn't see any guard around.
I don't recommend this lake for swimming as well even if you know how to. You can spend time in the temple or sit at the edges or stands built at the edge of the lake and enjoy the scenic view.
Wonderful place. Nature at its best. Dont confine your self to one place at this location but try roaming arround in interiros. If you have a vehicle try getting in to a road where google maps drive you. Its a treasure spot. It gives a feeling like kerala back waters. Coconuts trees all around.
Nice experience.. calm place.. boating is available preferred time either morning by 10 or evening post 4 PM, else make sure you wear full sleeves. Reasonable and negotiable rates too.
